About Main-Events
Main-Events is a New Zealand based company that specializes in software to manage horse shows and horse breeding. It is the largest supplier of horse show software in New Zealand and is now used in over 50 shows including the Horse of the Year Show, Royal Easter Show and 4 other Agricultural & Pastoral Events that host the prestigious RAS classes. The company has new clients in the USA, Australia and Malaysia.
The company also manages the secretarial side of several large A&P Shows in New Zealand and runs the Age Breeding Series Database for Young Showjumpers in a sponsorship arrangement.
Main-Events was started in 1987 with the management of one local show and a staff of 1 but has grown significantly in recent years with new staff coming on board to launch Main-Events with a more international focus and as a web based application in the future. The company merged with award winning software development company 3D Achieve Ltd in 2003 to become Achieve-IT Ltd. 3D Achieve marketed a range of planning and assessment software to the education market.
The new look company has in the last year expanded interest areas and has developed specialised versions of Main-Events to run bird shows and speed shearing competitions and is currently trialing software to run dog shows.
Even within the flagship program Main-Events for Horse Shows Professional, new report formats are easily implemented to meet specific requirements of new markets. For example, we have recently included report formats for the first Stallion Select Futurity Show run under the American based National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) rules.
